The mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society:
Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myloma, and imporve the quality of life and their families.
This is why, I am going the Distance!
This Spring on June 3, 2001, I will be running in the San Diego Rock & Roll Marathon with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s, Team in Training program. In doing so I have committed to run my first marathon and raise money for leukemia research, patient-aid services, and community service programs.
THAT’S RIGHT, I will run, walk and crawl, all 26.2 miles of the San Diego Rock & Roll Marathon on June 3, 2001.
I have committed to raising a minimum of $3,750.00 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This e-letter goes out to you because I am asking you to contribute as generously as possible to The Leukemia Society, on my behalf.
As I run the 26.2 miles, your support will instill the will, inspiration, mental and physical toughness to complete my task. The finish line is a long way away for myself, but the finish line for a cure to leukemia could be right around the corner with your help. This is by far, the most challenging event I have ever committed to; yet it pales in comparison to the challenge that leukemia patients face everyday! Please go to the "donate" field on this site, and send your 100% tax-deductible contributions to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by April 23rd, 2001.
